Overview:

• The Material Handler is responsible for supporting production / manufacturing, by ensuring supplies requested are provided in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide quick and reliable service ( Internal and External customer’s )
• Work in accordance to business procedures ( ISO – 9001 )
• Perform all data entry, as required ( SAP )
• Basic computer skills, Lotus notes, Excel, Word would be an asset
• Perform Inventory / Cycle counts, as per scheduled or scheduled by Warehouse Leadhand
• Escalate and business or safety concerns to Leadhand / Supervisor when required.
• Adhere to all “Security” policies and procedures
• Load & unload Transport trucks
• Move skids / material from department to departments
• Load / stock pile material on to shelves or skids
• All other duties as assigned by Warehouse Leadhand, and or Supervisor that may not be listed above

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Perform daily Safety / Equipment inspections ( Forklifts, Power Walkies )
• Keep warehouse and work stations clean – general house keeping
• Provide idea’s/suggestion to Supervisor or Leadhand for process improvement opportunities

Specific Skills/Knowledge and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
• Good communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced “manufacturing” environment
• SAP knowledge and experience would be an asset
• Forklift certification / license would be an asset

Working Conditions:

• Overtime & Shift work may be required
• Loading dock / hot and cold weather / temperature exposure
• Fast paced manufacturing environment

Physical Demands:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to bend
• Able to work on feet for long periods at a time
• Able to climb ladders, stairs
